I’m a highly creative and versatile artist with a diverse background spanning a wide range of creative disciplines, including animatronic figure finishing, scenic art, prop fabrication, graphic design, special effects makeup, and even horticulture. My career has been a dynamic journey, driven by a passion for bringing imaginative concepts to life.
I’ve had the privilege of contributing to iconic entertainment experiences at world-renowned theme parks like Universal Studios and Walt Disney World, where I honed my skills in figure finishing, scenic painting, fabrication, and special effects makeup. I’ve excelled working in the faced-paced, deadline-driven graphic design departments of both daily and weekly newspapers. I’ve also thrived in independent ventures, owning and operating successful businesses including launching and managing a boutique retail location.
My passion for creating immersive and engaging experiences is grounded in my Master of Science in Themed Experience from the University of Central Florida. As a member of the first graduating cohort in 2022, I gained a deep understanding of the principles of themed entertainment design and development.
My skillset encompasses a wide array of techniques and materials, including:
• Animatronic Figure Finishing: Skin layup and maintenance, RTV and catalyzed silicones, fiberglass, urethane, painting, distressing, fur, feathers, hair, costumes, and routine maintenance.
• Scenic Art & Props: Water-based and solvent-based painting, murals, rockwork, prop fabrication & maintenance, character costume maintenance, including work in highly themed environments often with adherence to IP standards.
• Graphic Design: Adobe Creative Suite, illustration, page and advertising layout, branding, logo design, custom invitations & stationery, event marketing, promotional materials.
• Special Effects Makeup: Character makeup design and application with airbrush and traditional brushes, latex and silicone prosthetic application, body painting, wig maintenance, and mask making & maintenance.
• Horticulture: Topiary concept development, plant selection, planting & maintenance, hydroponics, and themed horticultural displays for special events.
